Online bids close at 8PM on Thursday, 13th February. Live bidding will happen at the two cabarets (14 and 15 February).

Online Bidding

To bid online, click the link, register, and confirm via an email confirmation link. Bidders will be requested to create a password as a security measure. To place a bid, you need to bid higher than the current bid by at least the minimum bid increment of R500, R250, or R100.

When you place your bid, you are stipulating the highest amount you are willing to bid. Your actual bid is simply the opening bid or one bid increment up from the current bid. The system will automatically bid on your behalf by the stipulated bid increment until your maximum is reached.

Example:
If the starting bid is R250 and you bid R1500, with increments of R250, you are actually only bidding R500. If thereafter someone else bids R750, the system will automatically bid R1000 on your behalf as it is under your maximum bid of R1500. You will receive an email if someone outbids your maximum bid.

The online auction closes on Thursday, 13 February at 8PM. Live auction items will continue at the two cabaret dinners.

The Cabaret and Live Bidding

The Cabaret will be held on 14 and 15 February.
Online bidding will close the night before (13 February at 8PM).

Online-to-Live Auction Items

Lots will be pulled from the online auction to be closed live at the dinner. The highest closing bids from the online auction will be opening bids for the live auction at the dinner. If your maximum bid is not reached at the live event, your bid will become the winning bid.

Who Can Bid Online?

Anyone can register. Once registered, you will receive an email confirmation with a link. Bidders will be requested to create a password as a security measure. Once the confirmation is done, bidding can start.

How Bidding Works

To place a bid, you need to bid higher than the current bid by at least the minimum bid increment (R500, R250, or R50, depending on the itemโ€™s value).

When you place your bid, you are stipulating the highest amount you are willing to bid. This means your actual bid is simply one bid increment up from the current bid, and the system will automatically bid on your behalf by the stipulated bid increment as others bid on the item, until your maximum is reached.

Example:
Assuming minimum bid increments of R50 with a current bid of R250:

  • If you bid R1000, you are actually only bidding R300.
  • If someone else then bids R650, the system will automatically bid R700 on your behalf as it is under your maximum bid of R1000.
  • You will receive an email if someone outbids your maximum bid.โ€‹
